PRINTO
Pursuing excellence in clinical research on paediatric rheumatic diseases.
Since 1996, PRINTO has been conducting clinical research aimed at improving the lives and care of children with rheumatic diseases.

What we do
Our primary goal is to foster, facilitate and coordinate multi-centre clinical trials, outcome standardisation, and training for young researchers.

Academic research
Non-profit trials, consensus projects, cross-cultural adaptation of questionnaires, training, and family education resources coordinated with a global network.

Collaboration with families
Development of Paediatric Investigation Plans, site selection, case report forms, and independent evaluation of outcomes for partners in industry.

Collaboration with PRCSG & PReS
Shared protocols, disease activity measures, and methodological standards adopted worldwide, including implementation of the EU Paediatric Regulation.
Who we are
The Paediatric Rheumatology INternational Trials Organisation (PRINTO) is a not for profit, non governmental, international research network founded by Alberto Martini and Nicolino Ruperto in 1996. Including initially 14 European countries, the organization counts now on the cooperation of 2073 members from 729 centres in 95 countries worldwide. PRINTO has the goal to foster, facilitate and co-ordinate the development, conduct, analysis, and reporting of multi-centres, international clinical trials and/or outcome standardisation studies in children with paediatric rheumatic diseases (PRD).

Our global presence
National Coordinating Centres and Individual Clinical Centres collaborate across 95 countries. Together we ensure training, translation of materials, and fast access to studies.
Independent and real-time evaluation of key outcomes enables consistency in joint assessments and quality data for every study.

Celebrating 30 years of PRINTO
Thirty years after its founding, PRINTO (now the PRINTO Foundation), in collaboration with the PRCSG, is a global leader in paediatric rheumatology research, coordinating over 700 centres in more than 90 countries and involving over 50,000 patients. It has been instrumental in shaping clinical research standards and advancing therapies for paediatric rheumatic diseases. The congress will celebrate this legacy while focusing on current and future challenges, highlighting recent therapeutic advances and the integration of paediatric and adult rheumatology to ensure continuity of care.
